If you have comments,
questions, or suggestions about the material you find on this web site,
I want to hear from you.
Unfortunately, because of the amount of unsolicited junk mail that
results from having an e-mail address on the web, I've replaced the
usual "mailto:" link with this page. It gives you the information
you need to write to me, but you can't just click on it and have my
address appear in an email message. This is the only way I know
of to thwart commercial spammers, who have the ability to crawl around
the web picking up e-mail addresses that are given correctly.
I also have a spam-trapping software program that writes back to anyone
whose address it doesn't recognize. If you and I haven't
corresponded in the past, when you write you'll receive a reply from
the software that looks like a personal letter from me. It asks
you to click on a link to a web site where you'll be asked to write a
few words about why you're trying to contact me. Just say
something about the subject of your message. I'll accept your
message and reply. You don't have to send your e-mail again.
Sorry for all this bureaucracy. Before I started doing this I
received about 400 e-mails a day. Of those, nearly 80% was
spam. Even with the spam trapping software, the time wasted is
enormous and I'd rather use that time to answer people like you, who
have something worthwhile to say.
